Laura BOLIN, M.A., CCC-SLP

Laura earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Akron in 2020. Previous to pursuing her dream of becoming a speech-language pathologist, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Sociology from Hiram College in 2002, a master’s degree in Spanish from Middlebury College in 2005, and worked for several years in educational publishing.

Laura has previously worked as an SLP in the schools and in skilled nursing facilities. She kept feeling like she was addressing symptoms, but not getting to the root of her clients’ issues. She could not believe her luck when she came across Tera’s Instagram page and felt like she finally found the answer–executive function! She quickly bought Tera’s book and joined her online learning community. Once she started incorporating techniques to address executive function while working with clients, she began to see real improvement.

When the opportunity came to work at Seeds of Learning®, Laura jumped at the chance. She loves that she not only gets to work only one-on-one with clients, but also that she is able to have in-depth collaboration with parents and other team members to provide the best support for their child. Laura particularly enjoys conducting dynamic assessment to determine each client’s unique profile of learning strengths and functional areas of need. Her main area of interest includes literacy and how executive function impacts its development.

In her free time, Laura enjoys attending dance fitness classes, watching Spanish-language tv shows, adding books to her “to be read” list (and sometimes actually reading them), and traveling.
